ICS recommend that when your cooling temperatures operate at 6°C or below, then protect your equipment from freeze damage by adding glycol to your cooling water.

Furthermore, if your chiller or air blast cooler is sited outside and unprotected from frost, then provide protection with glycol to avoid the risk of freezing your equipment and prevent costly repairs and downtime with production.

We can offer you a wide range of anti-freeze products available from stock for next day delivery to protect all ranges of water Chillers and Cooling circuits.

We would also recommend the use of our glycols to prevent shell & tube, coil in tank and plate evaporators from the risk of freezing.

ICS can provide you or your clients with a professional tried and tested range of glycol-based secondary refrigerants to meet your specific site requirements – all tested to BS5117.

We can also provide an engineer to help specify what you require on site if needed.

We have formulated two glycol products for general applications with the majority of our customers choosing either industrial grade antifreeze – CoolFlow MEG RED (Mono Ethylene) and a general food & beverage grade antifreeze – CoolFlow MPG BLUE (Mono Propylene).

Both of these products have been developed to suit ICS Chillers and cooling products by containing inhibitors to reduce the effects of corrosion, scale and algae build-up – therefore allowing greater protection and heat transfer performance for you and your clients’ cooling circuit.

These are available in three sizes – 25 litre, 205 litre and 1,000 litre drums for all products and can be despatched to you on a next day basis to anywhere in the UK.

ICS Glycol Goes Green

ICS now offer a new range of food safe, biodegradable antifreeze. ICS Green is the newest addition to the ICS range of glycols, which includes Blue for food safe applications and Red for general industrial plants.

The new ‘Green’ Glycol is a proprietary blend of refined vegetable extracts that are biodegradable and have a very low order of toxicity. Suitable for use in the food and beverage industry or for systems where low oral toxicity is preferred, ICS Green contains non-toxic (GRAS) multi-metal inhibitors to protect chillers and associated cooling systems against corrosion and scale, thus prolonging equipment life and thermal efficiency.
